He received a commendation from the Bayonne MOT for work done on outside electrical installations.

Jay proudly served the nation as a member of the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict as Damage Control 3rd Class on the USS Laws DD58 while in Korea. He was awarded the Korean Service Ribbon (2 Stars), the United Nation’s Service Medal, the China Service Medal, the National Defense Medal, and the Distinguished Service Medal.
